Get ready for the fourth edition of the Marathon of Europe - Aveiro 2024, set for April 28th! An official race on the World Athletics global calendar, it will be broadcast live on the leading channel of national television, TVI. A major new feature for 2024 is the Marathon Fair, with international reach and many surprises for everyone.
The "marathon of a thousand emotions" is once again endorsed by Aurora Cunha, three-time world champion, and patronized by João Neto, the ultramarathon runner who made history by running seven marathons on seven continents in seven consecutive days. In 2023, we broke participation records and exceeded expectations. Now, we are preparing something truly even more astonishing
The Marathon of Europe — Aveiro 2024 takes place against a stunning backdrop, with beaches, canals, unique traditions, and gastronomy. It's the fastest marathon in Portugal, with a 42.195 km course that's virtually flat. In previous editions, 60% of athletes beat their personal bests.
In addition to the marathon, we will have a half-marathon, mini-marathon, charity walk, and social and cultural events. Co-organized by Global Sport and the Aveiro City Council, with support from the Central Portugal Regional Tourism Entity and the Ílhavo City Council.
